Reclamation of Pakistani Nationality
Required Documents
The Embassy of Pakistan, Berlin, is pleased to inform the community members that the competent authority has approved the facilitation of German nationals of Pakistan-origin aspiring to reclaim their Pakistani nationality.
The applicants are required to bring the following documents
- Five (5) copies of duly filled Form-Y (typed/digitally filled only; handwritten forms are not accepted)
- Original Renunciation Certificate +Five (5) copies of the same
- Five (5) Copies of POC/NICOP/CNIC
- Five (5) latest passport size photographs of the applicant.
- Euro 100 fee per reclamation certificate
- Five (5) Copies of German passport of the applicant
Issuance of Reclamation Certificate
The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports, in Islamabad, is responsible for issuing reclamation certificates. It is not an online procedure. The entire process may take 3-4 months from the time the reclamation application is submitted until the reclamation certificate is issued. If the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports needs further information from the applicants, this time frame may be extended.
The applicants, after confirming that their Reclamation Certificate has been received in the Embassy, can collect it in person by visiting the Mission or by post after presenting the latest Original Pakistani passport, original Pakistani Identity Card and NADRA’s email regarding cancellation of Identity Card.
Processing Time
- Duration of the renunciation varies from case to case.
- Usually it may take up to 12-16 weeks time.
- Delays may occur owing to clearance of documents by various quarters concerned in Pakistan
